Another Revolutionary Soldier Gone -Died,
May 23, 1843, at his residence in Owen county, Kentucky,
HENRY CARTER, aged 93 years. He enlisted as a
soldier at an early day in the Revolutionary struggle
and continued to the end of the war, being one of the
last discharged from service. He was wounded in
the memorable battle of Brandywine. He was a true
Whig in the days of the Revolution, and he
remained a true Whig till the day of his death. |
